Deadline for MA & Doctoral prize nominations announced!

Nominations for the annual BCMH prizes now open

The BCMH provides annual prizes to Masters students in recognition of outstanding dissertations on maritime subjects (broadly defined) and also, in association with Boydell & Brewer, provides a Doctoral Prize for the best doctoral thesis on a maritime subject.

The deadline to make a nomination for the MA and Doctoral prizes this year is 1 February 2023.

Last years winners were Cory Watson (MA Prize) for: Tales from the ‘Desolating Coast’: An exploration of the Narratives of the Naval Surgeon Peter Leonard on the Anti-Slavery Squadron, 1821-1832 (University of Plymouth), and Lewis Wade (PhD Prize) for: Privilege at a Premium: Insurance, Maritime Law and Political Economy in Early Modern France, 1664-c. 1710 (University of Exeter).
