History Society Launches New Digital Journal - The Bowsprit

The Drake Navigators Guild (DNG), a prominent history society based in Northern California since 1949, is excited to announce the release of the inaugural issue of their digital journal, The Bowsprit.

Dedicated to exploring and sharing insights into early California maritime visitors and Pacific Coast nautical history, The Bowsprit promises to be an engaging resource for enthusiasts and scholars alike. The Bowsprit will be published quarterly, with each issue delivered directly to DNG members via email.

Furthermore, to promote accessibility and wider dissemination of knowledge, each subsequent issue will be archived on the society's website, allowing the general public to access past editions on the DNG website. Steve Wright, editor of The Bowsprit, invites submissions from individuals passionate about various facets of maritime history.

The content of the journal reflects the mission of the DNG and will additionally include articles relating to seafaring and shipbuilding during the Age of Sail and other matters relating to seafaring and among all peoples and nations. The Bowsprit may be viewed online and the editor reached via the Drake Navigators Guild website.
